Tillylovesseabourn Posted February 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2019 Considering a cruise in a sky or celebrity suite from Southampton and have a few queries. 1. At what time can suite travellers board in Southampton? 2.Is Champagne and Tanqueray included without cost in Micheals club, or are they extra? 3.At what stage are paid upgrades offered, if available? 4.How much is charged for corkage should we wish to take Champagne onboard? 5.Is there a special terrace or sunbathing area for suite guests on Solstice class ships? Thanks for your help.

At what time can suite travellers board in Southampton? Around 11:00 - We arrived at 12:00 and there was quite a crowd going through security but once in the terminal check in quick. Roos are generally not available until after 1:00 15 minutes ago, Tillylovesseabourn said: 2.Is Champagne and Tanqueray included without cost in Micheals club, or are they extra? Rare groryjm Posted February 10, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2019 Jim has answered very succinctly. I will add that what ever time you arrive, and that can be anytime you wish from around 10.30am, you will be escorted (CS and above) or can make your way straight to Michael's Club and avoid the crowds towing there carry-ons around the ship. Have a drink at MC then make your way to Luminae for lunch and return to MC for a coffee before the suites are ready, all the time leaving your bags under the watch of the MCC😎
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 10, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) One thing comes to mind. We went to Luminea for lunch and after finishing asked the Restaurant Manger if rooms were ready. He said they were available but he had turned off the announcements in Luminea to make it more peaceful. We were staying in Southampton the night before within walking distance to the port. We got up late and had a nice breakfast before getting an Uber to port. It was less than $10.00. Depending on arrival at Heathrow it might be good to build in some extra time to clear immigration. We arrived at terminal 2 from Paris and the immigration was terrible. It took us over 2 hours to clear. I was keeping our limo driver updated. Also the drive to Southampton can be very busy in the late afternoon and weekends. I believe it took close to 2 hours to get to Southampton from Heathrow at 3:30 on a Friday. Tillylovesseabourn Posted February 13, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted February 13, 2019 May I ask, are you assigned a specific table in Luminae or is it forst come first served or depending on suite category? Thanks

Thanks Open seating--dine when you wish [I've only once had a wait]--with table assignment on a first come/first served basis irrespective of suite category... Tillylovesseabourn Posted February 13, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) Great, this is really helpful folks. I now have to decide between an s1 on deck 9 at the rear or a CS, 1620,1617,1622 or 1619. That is all available, which has the largest balcony, as i hear s1 is likely to be bigger than cs? And or where is the best located CS for balcony size, though i expect they will all be similar. Thanks again. Thanks again. CSs are all similar except for 1618 and 15 which are massive . I think on the M Class ships the CS bacony is larger than an aft S1. M Class is different and the CS balconies are very narrow but you are looking at an M Class ship. This is 1638 (1618 equivalent) on Reflection and you can see how big the balcony is.....Massive CS 1638 Reflection This is an aft corner S1 on Eclipse S1 and an ordinary CS on Reflection CS on Reflection
Tillylovesseabourn Posted February 13, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Glory, thanks that really helps. 1615 & 1618 are gone, so it is just a normal balcony, but you are correct they certainly look bigger than the s1 aft corners. It is just pretty important to us as we spend loads of time there! Is there a better side? I read about a smoking area or something i want to avoid. And are the suites next to 1615 more private due to angles? Thanks
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 13, 2019 #12 Share Posted February 13, 2019 While 1618 on Silhouette had a nice large balcony we were unable to use it for most of the cruise is due to high seas. They had all of the furniture lash down.
Rare groryjm Posted February 13, 2019 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2019 usually the smoking areas are on the port side so from that point of view starboard is better - 1620 and
