Having just visited Cartagena on the Pursuit in November, I was interested in this new blog post, The Best of Cartagena, Colombia...seems I missed seeing so much!

We will have to get back there someday! How about you? Is Cartagena on your bucket list?

If so, we have two upcoming voyages with Cartagena in the itinerary: December 19, 2019 & March 23, 2020

P.S. I took the picture of the Cartaganian woman at our AzAmazing Evening in Cartagena 🙂

AZists,

Highly recommend a trip out to the National Aviary in Columbia as something different to do if you have already seen the historic sites in Cartagena before. It has only been recently opened but is extremely well done.  We did a private tour through Tours by Local with Daniel with only 6 people.  Our guide loved taking us through the Aviary... He enjoyed talking to the birds.  We got there early before the bus tours and had the place to ourselves!  We all got some fantastic pictures!

We overnighted in Cartagena and as well as the Azamazing Evening (not Azamara’s best but that’s another story) we decided to blow OBC on two ships tours which turned out to be the best ever.

First day, a walking tour in town which ended up at a chocolate workshop where we all had fun making chocolates to take back to the ship

and then Day 2 a walking tour with a photographer and a community representative from the former no go area of Getsemani now home to art, murals etc but still home to local life and characters. I would 100% recommended this tour in particular so genuine, colourful and informative

This was our 4 time in Cartagena it’s a favourite we look forward to enjoying again one day
