Can I bring wine onboard to be taken home later

We are in Barcelona now, staying for a week before our cruise starts. Found some GREAT wines here. Would like to purchase 6 bottles to take home after cruise. Would like MSC to hold on to the wine and we will retrieve it at end of cruise. Will this work or will they just confiscate the wine upon embarkation ?

We are onboard now. Boarding was a breeze, I indicated that I had wine in my small carry on suitcase. Told to just keep it with me until security. No problem going through scanner/X-ray . ( first round done by BCN port authority)

at YC holding area, I again said I had wine I wanted held until end of cruise. Told to wait until  MSC security. Butler arrives to escort group onto ship. We get to security and he points out his YC people. They walk us around outside of scanner line and onto the ship we go. Still have the wine with me in our cabin. No intention of opening it as we can drink all we want onboard.

Sidenote:  was able to get champagne both at lunch and dinner. Was asked if I wanted “real” or just sparkling. Was given NF.
