We are on the Seaview June and Below was on the MSC website what to Wear.......Do people dress up for these parties, Flower Glory Party, White Party and Little Italy Entertainment ?

will undertake during your cruise, such as parties, dinners, sports and shore excursions.

  • For everyday life on board, casual wear is recommended.
  • For informal evenings, we recommend summery dresses for women and a lightweight jacket for men.
  • For Gala evenings, the dress code is more formal. We suggest a tuxedo, dinner jacket, or dark suit and tie for men and a dressy outfit, formal gown, or cocktail dress for women.
  • We organize various daytime and evening Theme Parties on board. You may wish to bring 60's and 70's floral gear for the Flower Glory Party, white clothing for the White Party, and something green, white and red for the our MSC Little Italy entertainment.
  • For sports lovers, gym shoes and tracksuit are must-haves when using our cutting-edge gym and attending yoga and dance courses, where available.
  • We also recommend you bring a pullover or shawl to help with the changes in temperature between the air-conditioned interior of the ship and the deck areas.
  • For shore excursions, which may include visits to religious sites, we advise that appropriate clothing be worn (covered knees and shoulders, no low-cut tops).

Please make sure you pack appropriate clothing for the various activities you will undertake during your cruise, such as parties, dinners, sports and shore excursions.

While haven't sailed Seaview, we have sailed Seaside, and participation varied.  Most people went all or mostly white for white night, some people, maybe 20-30% made some sort of effort for 70s night. We didn't have an Italian night (well, in the dining room but it wasn't a theme party out in the atrium or party lounge). We did have Gatsby and Country and Western and pirate, and again, participation ranged around 20-30% or so making some kind of effort, whether all out or a mask or small accessory..

It's fun, but not mandatory to participate..

I'm assuming it's a Med cruise.  In that case, the only night that seems to be followed is White Night.  There's no Pirate or Country & Western in the Med.  Italian Night is gone, too, replaced with a Mediterranean Night which just refers to the menu focus in the MDRs.  On the night, the servers were olive green aprons and dickie bows to match the table runners.
