JLS07 Posted March 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2019 We have cruised Celebrity many times from the states, but never Europe. How does the MDR menu change being in European Ports? We are leaving from Rome and doing a Mediterranean cruise ending in Barcelona this summer. Would we see some regional cuisine options? Does anyone have any pictures from the MDR on a European cruise? Thank you for any insights
Rare Jim_Iain Posted March 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2019 No changes at all unless they have a special meal (for a fee). The menu's are the same across the fleet regardless of origin and destination.
Rare cruisestitch Posted March 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2019 MDR Menus will not change. Where are you might see local foods including Spanishham, Portuguese cheese, French pastry etc are in the ocean view café at lunch and dinner. JLS07 Posted March 15, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted March 15, 2019 Thank you. I was hoping for maybe one extra dish a night that focused on the cuisine of the area.

I would just like them change one dish per night on the main menu as the existing one gets rather old for frequent cruisers. I can't remember it changing in the past 3-4 years. BEAV Posted March 15, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2019 (edited) Menus based on the region you're cruising is one of the things I enjoyed most about our recent cruise to Hawaii on Holland America. Unfortunately, the quality and execution of the food didn't impress me too much, but I really enjoyed the Polynesian/Asian influence in the menu offerings. Rare cruisestitch Posted March 15, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2019 There was one small change last night, But it was most probably a question of being an able to get the correct supply to make the beef tournedos. There was an extra fish on that menu. I would welcome a change change to the MDR dinner menus, for sure!

I can't remember it changing in the past 3-4 years. We went on Carnival for a Cuban cruise - the only ship we could make work time wise. Generally it wasn't impressive, but they did have one rotating dish based on Cuban food. I don't know if it was because of the itinerary, but it was nice to have an option of regional foods. Celebrity food is really good for cruise cuisine, but having a rotating dish based on Caribbean themes, Mediterranean, North Europe, Asian, etc would be very nice. Just one dish, doesn't need to be the entire menu.
