RBAlbany Posted March 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Want to do a day at the beach. Emerald Princess docking there 9/22. Can anyone please provide best way to get from ship to beach. Specifics helpful. Cost, etc. Is there a better beach? If so please provide info. Thanks to all.
marazul Posted March 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2019 A taxi or Uber would be your only options. It would be a 5-10 minute ride for about 20 euros. There are a number of restaurants (and I think a hotel) at Les Sablettes and they could call you a taxi or you could book Uber. This is your closest beach to the port. You can rent chairs there. It is not a luxury, tourist beach, more of a local, neighborhood place.
Lutèce Posted March 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2019 As far as I know, le Petit Train picks up from the port and has a stop at les Sablettes More information to be found here. https://en.tourisme-ouestvar.com/
HelenREMfan Posted May 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) IMG_0056.MOV IMG_0056.MOV This is exactly what we did..... and as we couldn't get a port side taxi..... my daughter used Uber and a fab driver with his Mercedes arrived for us and we arranged a pick up with him. He was punctual to the exact minute! We loved it here as an old fashioned beach resort - not crowded with beach side restaurants, reasonably priced. There was a market on in the morning when we arrived with plenty of hand made soaps etc and there are a few little shops (including a fabulous speciality ice cream shop!) We paid around the €20 and really enjoyed our day, swimming in the sea and relaxing. Edited May 21, 2019 by HelenREMfan
