CarnivalCruiser32 Posted April 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2019 We're going Southern Caribbean on the Carnival Horizon for my niece's birthday. She will be turning 5! We've looked at the excursions on Carnival's website and some of them sound okay but none really stand out as something we HAVE to do. She can’t snorkel and we doubt she’ll be down to learn any time before her birthday because of the mask situation. Maybe she’ll prove us wrong? Who knows? In the meantime though we’re looking for something to do in Grand Turk that ideally involves a beach and swimming of some sort. Maybe an Island tour thrown in there as well? We’ve never been before so any tips/tricks/advice/personal experiences you’d like to share we’d greatly appreciate!! Especially looking for folks to share experiences with the Carnival shore excursions as we’re a little nervous to take one apart from the cruise line. We’re willing to consider other excursions but would just feel better if it were with Carnival if possible
Rare crewsweeper Posted April 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2019 The beach is right at the port, if that's your thing. For a tour of the island, just go out to the taxi stand and ask one of the drivers. They all love their island and will take you all over.
CoW mAn Posted April 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2019 The free beach immediately to the left of the port is great, bring $5 to rent a floating mat
knbcruisers Posted April 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Walk outside the port gate and hire cab or a golf cart(drive yourself). You can’t get in trouble in Grand Turk on your own. The island is only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide. Drive the main road around the island, you can stop at Governor Beach, the lighthouse, Cockburn for a snack and drinks, visit with the donkeys that are everywhere, see the flamingos at the salt ponds.
