Beachvue Posted April 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2019 Just booked a transatlantic Cruise for Oct 2020 Lisbon to. Miami. Booked a suite on the Viking Sky. Wondering which side would get the most sun exposure? The suite is on the stern. I’m thinking port.
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2019 Port it is. Sun will be to the south. EM
Beachvue Posted April 15, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted April 15, 2019 Thank you. Thought so as we just did a San Juan/Barcelona crossing in a stbd cabin and had sun all day. Just needed reassurance!
JohnnyG1 Posted October 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2019 P-O-S-H - Port Out, Starboard Home. Port is the left hand side of the ship looking forward. This was used in the old days of the Transatlantic liners going from Europe 'OUT to America.'

In those days there was no aircon on ships. It got very hot inside. POSH was the code to plan for the least amount of sun (on the shadiest side of the ship) when the ship was in the tropics.
