YankeesFan4Life Posted April 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) I mentioned the name then decided to delete.....Their excursions and prices seem to be fair and better than most. I was able to get a tour for 4 for $25pp plus whatever entry fees we may incur. I wanted to do the sloths/monkeys, so he gave me a name of a place that was $15pp, which is fine. He then asked me to pay via PayPal, so he would avoid taxes on his end. So, I click the link he sent me, sent him the $160 for the tour, and he responds back to me that he didn't get the whole $160 and PayPal took almost a $9 commission from him. He didn't ask me pay him the difference, but what am I to do? Do I say, well, that's not my fault, you gave me the link? Or do I just bite the bullet and give him $10US there? Don't think it is my problem that he's out money, but at the same time, don't want to piss him off as he's going to be transporting my family and I in a third world country...And it's certainly NOT the $10, but the principal.... Thoughts??? Edited April 23, 2019 by YankeesFan4Life
Host Carolyn Posted April 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2019 I never use PayPal but if he uses it to get a commission then you shouldn't have to pay the commission? And he should've known about the commission. I always use credit card.
Guest 2000 Posted April 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2019 if he was clever enough to figure out the taxes then he was clever enough to know that there was a commission of $9 from PayPal.
