Tours near Anchorage airport

We (a party of eight) will have several hours before our 8:00 PM flight home after our cruise.  Are there any city tours that leave from the Anchorage airport and return?  Perhaps a free shuttle to transport us to a tour location?  I am thinking a taxi or car rental for that many people could get expensive.  Any suggestions would be so grateful!

Thank you, Glaciers.  That looks perfect, except the web site says there is nothing available for my date.  I will contact them to see if that is in fact the case.

If so interested, the Alaskan Air Museum is located very near the airport.  It recounts the history of Alaska Airlines and has interesting displays concerning Alaskan aviation history.

That's a great idea for an option of just getting out of the airport. The free airport parking lot shuttle can drop you there upon request.

Exactly how much time do you have ? and where were you coming from ?

 

With 'several hours' ,  I'd look at renting 2 small cars and exploring the area around Anchorage.  

You could drive along the Turnagain Arm to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center,  with many other stops depending on your time and interests . Stopping points are indicated for each of these drives. Both are no further than 45 minutes from the airport:
