Rare Presto2 Posted May 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2019 Hi, We are just checking our bookings for our cruise in August. We booked our restaurant reservations months ago to make sure that we more or less got what we wanted. Just curious to know now how the system works. I.e. Does it work well in terms of punctuality? We have chosen to eat at about 8 p.m. each evening and would hate to think that we could end up having to wait and for our evening meal to be really late. Hope that makes sense. mcolem2v Posted May 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2019 We booked all of our reservations before the trip. There was never an issue with waiting. We may have waited 3 minutes each dinner just because the person escorting us to our table had just left to escort someone else to the table. Usually, there is some pandemonium surrounding the first two (2) nights until things get sorted out. I can presume not, as if it were an issue people would have posted by now about it. bon appetite and bon voayge
mcolem2v Posted May 6, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2019 First night was similar to the rest. We did eat around 7:00 each night. Just as long as you book your reservations before the trip then you should be ok. We did take some time add our friends to each reservation once we got on board. We had to wait around 30 minutes to do that, but we knew that we would have to do that once onboard. Our friends had a set dining time, and could not be switched to Flex. Once we got on board, we were able to switch them to our reservations no problem. If you don't have your reservations set, I would go to cyprus first thing to book them for the entire trip. Denny01 Posted May 6, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2019 We booked early dining for Cyprus, then changed during the cruise to try all of them and had no problems picking a time and dining room. The specialty restaurants close up quickly and only ‘odd times’ - very early or late were available while on the cruise. Enjoyed Eden Restaurant, but Cut Above wasn’t that much of a ‘cut above’ from the 4 dining rooms.....for me. Loved the Normandie the most, but Cyprus was a close 2nd with Cosmo and Tuscan quite enjoyable. Enjoy! Den
