Souvenir - Ship Model - Horizon

Hi;

 

We'll be sailing on the Horizon in Aug - Do they sell souvenir ship models in the ship stores?

 

On our past cruise (Conquest), we're able to buy one and the lady who sold it to us was very nice - She advised us that we could get it autographed by the ship captain in the casino (apparently, the captain has a meet and greet on one of the nights?)

Yes, they have them.  There are boxes all over in the ship's store.  Funny thing is that they are all empty.  You ask for one and they will go get you one out of the store room.   I have them for every cruise we've been on and it's never been that way before.

 

They have really downsized them.  Our model of the Paradise is larger than the Horizon one.  My  wife noticed that the model doesn't have the sky ride on it.  Guess it was too much detail.

Thank-you for confirming.  Our daughter collects them, so this will be a nice addition to her collection.

[But we're nowhere close to your collection :) - This is only our third cruise, so we have ways to go].

You're welcome.  I didn't start collecting them until our fourth cruise.  I regretted not getting them for our first three so I came on here in the Roll Call section and ask if anyone going on those three ships would be willing to buy one and mail it to me.  Hard to believe but three people stepped forward and said they would do it.  It was a trust on both parts.  They trusted that I would send them the money with a little extra for their effort and I trusted them that they would mail the ships.  I had all three within a few weeks.   

 

I have a shelf in my garage with the ships on it.  Above each ship is an 8x10 picture of that ship.  I put the ship's pins that they give you glued to the picture frame.  Below that is a shelf with a Monkey head, Wail Tail, Blow Fish and Clown Fish drink cups.

Unfortunately, I don't have a site to post pictures from.  I gave up on them after Photobucket started charging for their service.
