Any photos of White / tropical Night

Recommended Posts

This is going to be our first Royal Caribbean cruise. And I have read that they do a white night and a tropical night. Can you post pictures of what you guys wore? We are trying to get an ideal of what to buy. Also do they do any other themed nights, we are going on a 7 night out of Miami on the Oasis?

thank you

On all the Royal cruises we've been on there have been no theme nights where passengers dress up. There have been nights where the entertainment centered around a theme like 70's disco night or Caribbean flair, with parades by the CD and entertainment staff in the Promenade and sometimes the main theater show tying in (on ships that still do the old 45 minute review shows instead of the Broadway quality productions) and the house band doing some theme related songs during their sets. The movie under the stars may even be related to the theme, like in March the Anthem showed Momma Mia 2 on 70's night, but no one beyond the performers during the shows, parade, or music sets dress to the 70's theme.

On ships that have Boleros (Latin bar) will generally have some people dress in Latin music appropriate dance clothing, but it's not a requirement to enter the area.

That may or may not happen on your sailing - don't plan too much for those.

Okay. I thought it sounded cool.    we normally cruise Carnival and they don't do any themed nights that I know of.  do they tell you ahead of time if they are planning on doing them?

Yes, the night before in the cruise Compass - if you trust the RCI app, it may be listed there before the sailing.

Nope, not pre-cruise, that appears to be beyond their capability to do reliably.

^^ All of this.

If you think you'd like to participate and get dressed up if the opportunity presents itself, I would bring a kind of "Hawaiian print" style shirt (how loud a print is entirely up to you). And then maybe a casual white top (or dress). This way, if you don't wear them on theme night, you have the option to wear the clothes another day or night during your cruise. Just an idea. Whatever you choose, have a great time!
