Korean Food available?

My parents have never gone on an cruise and I'd like to book a cruise for them.  However, they insist that when they travel, they eat Korean food.  Often, they'll bring Korean food with them.

Are there any cruise ships with Korean restaurants?   Or any cruise ships that let you cook food in your state room?

My apologies if this has been asked before.  I did a search in this forum but couldn't find any answers.

I think it would be very unlikely to find any authentic Korean food on a cruise ship.

No cruise line would allow cooking in a cabin, it's a major fire hazard. Any cooking equipment would be confiscated on embarkation.

It really depends on what specific type of Korean food they want.  Real genuine "as mother used to make" - probably not.  But then I don't get "English" food meeting that same definition on a cruise ship either.

But if you mean something a bit more "after the style of.." some lines have specialist south Asian restaurants.  For example Celebrity have "Sushi on 5" but having had "real" sushi in Japan it is a bit more of the American version.  Some classes also have "Silk Harvest" as a specialty with specifically Korean food advertised.    Princess has "Kai Sushi" - but pretty much the same.  There is an Asian section in the Buffet on Celebrity - including the breakfast buffet.   But is it authentic enough - I don't know.

As another poster mentioned no cruise line will allow cooking in a cabin.  It's also very unlikely that your parents would be allowed to bring food aboard, depending on where the cruise starts and what the food actually is

Thanks.  Is there a site to find all the Asian restaurants for each cruise ship?

Not one that would list for very single cruise company in the world.  There are just too many!

You could try sites like these

https://cruisepassenger.com.au/best-asian-food-cruise-ships/

http://www.cruiseagency.com.au/news/cruise-ship-cuisine-best-asian-restaurants/

https://www.travelagewest.com/Travel/Cruise/Cruise-Ship-Dining-Five-Great-Asian-Restaurants-at-Sea

https://cruiseandtravelasia.com/best-asian-food-seas/

But if you find one you like remember to then check that it is available on the itinerary you want.  Each line has different classes of ships often with different specialty restaurants.

I just watched a YouTube video on Virgin’s Scarlet Lady.  This is a new cruise line debuting April 2020.  One of the restaurants featured in this cruise is Korean.  This is something might be worth checking out.  Also, this cruise line is adults only.  A plus for many!
