karajeboo Posted June 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2019 We did self assist debarkation in NOLA last year and swore we'd do it from now on, so easy! But how does it work in Port Canaveral for boarding? How does security handle bringing all luggage on board ourselves? Only a couple pieces, but still not sure how they work it. karajeboo Posted June 19, 2019 Author #2 Share Posted June 19, 2019 I may have my answer. Looks like it IS allowed, but tends to hold up the security line so we'll just check the larger piece on through.
DaveOKC Posted June 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2019 Luggage has to fit through the security scanner, about the same size as at the airport (at most ports).
skrufy Posted June 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2019 Carry it on. As long as it fits through the scanner and you are not carrying anything that will cause you to have to open any bags your not going to hold up the line.
Capt_BJ Posted June 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2019 you can carry your own .... but remember your cabin is often not ready for a couple of hours after boarding begins so if you board early you get to baby sit your bags too .....
CruizCuz Posted June 19, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2019 I ALWAYS carry on my luggage by way of two carry-ons. My husband will check his. But we have always purchased FTTF but now are Platinum, so our rooms are ready upon boarding. I doubt I would carry on all of my luggage if I couldn't take it to the room after boarding. It's hard enough carrying around a carry-on and large purse. BUT, if you do take your luggage on in Port Canaveral, it's easy.
kelbell Posted June 22, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2019 We found it moved very fast. The line was not held up at all. I find more and more people are doing it.
