Mykonos Beach Hotels

Any problem spending the day at the beach at one of the hotels on Platys Gialos Beach while we are in port for the day?  Can we rent a lounger and an umbrella and buy drinks and snacks?  Any hotels friendlier than others to cruisers using their property?

Your suggestions would be appreciated!

Platys Gialos is lined with restaurant/bars all offering loungers and shades for rent and drinks and food. The further away you go from the road leading there the quieter it will be.

We had a bad experience with one of the bars whereby they claimed to have wifi and were happy to take our money for beds and shades but suddenly realised the wifi wasn't working, they then proceeded to fill in every space around us with extra beds meaning we had to climb over other people and then when we went to order beers they said they had none of the local beers on the menu and only the more expensive ones, likewise with some of the menu items. We bought our beers from the little supermarket on the beach and decamped to a different bar for lunch.

The moral of the story is shop around for what's important to you and the further away you go from the road entry the less likely you are to get crowded out by greedy bar owners cramming too many loungers into every available space.

We did the Anax resort which is affiliated with St. Johns.  We contacted both and St. Johns wanted us to put a deposit on the credit card.  Anax didn't have this requirement, and we kept in contact with them over e-mail about pickup.  We had to go to a specific location to meet, and i was so happy that we were able to just pay when we got to Anax.  They have two infinity pools but and access to rocky beach.  You tell them when you want to go back to the drop off point, and it's just a short walk to the ferry.  It was really windy and the water was rough, so the pool access was perfect.
