When was your guarantee cabin assigned? What stateroom did you get?

I know this topic has been approached before, but not too recently.  So if you did a guarantee on MSC, what did you book and what did you get and when did you get it?

I have a GUAR booked and I'm hopeful that I'll get assigned before final payment is due, but somehow I doubt it.  Also, I assume that on MSC, unlike other cruiselines, guarantee bookings can be cancelled even after cabin assignment as long as you are still within the free cancellation window (usually 90+ days from sailing).  True?

I found my cabin No. When I did the web check in.

it was from inside to balcony, a great deal. So try to start the check and then you Maybe allready Can see the cabin No.

For seaside I booked a fantastica OV gty and was assigned a Fantastica balcony.   Don't remember how soon I found out, but I didn't book a long time before the cruise.  As far as cancellation, I had to cancel a cruise a couple of years ago, and I had carefully read the T&C and realized that the time to cancel with full refund was further out than final payment.  So check carefully.  EM

Did you see it right when you began the process (at the top of the screen) or did you have to fully complete the process?

I'm showing this (below), but haven't completed the check-in yet.

Last year on the Divina, we booked on May 28 for a 21 night beginning in October and got our cabin assignment less than a week later. This time on Seaside, we booked May 25 for a 14 night beginning in October and have not received an assignment yet. No rhyme or reason.

Did you only see the cabin number at web check-in?  Was it still showing as guarantee on the drop down menu?

As soon as you're allocated a cabin number it will showing in 'My Booking' on the website - no need to go to web check-in, just keep an eye on your booking online (or on the MSC for Me app if it applies).  That's how I discovered what cabin we'd been allocated when we booked a gty.

I’m sailing on the Seaside Sept 28, 2019. It’s past the final payment date (and I’m paid in full). I just checked and my cabin number has not been assigned.

I also have a reservation on Seaside (late October) which is not assigned.

If you think of it, let us know what you get once your assigned.

We booked a cruise on the Seaside Sept. 28, 2019 sailing last April, and we got our cabin assignment within 1 week of the booking. The location we were assigned is mid ship on deck nine. MSC, like most cruise lines, is consistently inconsistent.

Not yet.  Between us, I also have an assigned cabin.  If I don't get an assignment soon, I'll cancel the guarantee while I'm in the penalty-free period (which ends for me in about 10 days).  I think my odds are good for an upgrade with the GUAR Fantastica OV though, but you know what they say about a bird in the hand.

As you may know, MSC has been more generous with upgrades than any other cruise line that I know of.  Not sure if things will change with their new bid/pay to upgrade program.

My assignment/upgrade came EXACTLY 30 days before cruising.   It seems like the upgrades have zero rhyme or reason.   My cruise was comped by the MSC casino dept after i called them and got them to match my carnival offers.   I'm also cruising at a time where a lot of midwest and northern schools are beginning for the year.

 

I will say that I DID book excursions and items right before my assignment, so maybe they saw some activity and boom upgraded/assigned me.
