teeredi2cruise Posted July 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2019 We are interested in purchasing the 3 day dining package that is available to purchase in our profile, however, I cannot find information on how to reserve the restaurants and dining times once we have the package prior to sailing. Are we not allowed to reserve prior to sailing?

bouhunter Posted July 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2019 Usually once you click to book it you select either night one or two, and a time. They'll select the restaurant. When you board, visit a specialty restaurant to confirm or change that, and book the other two nights.

They give a break on the price in exchange for having to fill in slots left by those who paid full price and got to make reservations pre-cruise. So, if we book restaurants "without package" then we can reserve? I just noticed that one of our preferred restaurants (Hibachi Experience" is excluded from the 3 night dining package. However it looks like we could do the Chops +1 and have Hibachi. Then we could just pay for the any other specialty directly. I am interpreting this correctly? If you want to go for the "entertainment" I guess it's OK. We did it once and wouldn't go back.

Correct, any restaurant that you book alone and pay full price will have the ability to make a pre-cruise reservation.

When I bought the dining packages a few months ago it was night 1 only but I got to pick the time. Unfortunately I don't like the time I picked but can't change it unless I am willing to pay additional $10 pp per package. Hope I can change time when we board. We've always been able to change onboard - find an employee at one of the specialty restaurants when you board and they should be able to help :) It must vary by ship and/or sailing. We just booked the 5 night package for two different Serenade cruises and night 2 was an option for the first dinner. We have been sailing with NCL lately and have enjoyed Teppanyaki Habichi Grill with them, so we would definitely like to give it a try on this sailing. The dining package is included with them so it is a staple Specialty dinner for our family. Since we have to pay out of pocket for this one and the food and experience on this is too off the mark, we have no problem foregoing on future trips. I’m looking forward to it if for no other reason than it is not NCL and that is not meant as a dig to them, just looking for the different experience.
