coloradocruiselover88 Posted July 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2019 Hello fellow cruisers. I am sailing under the Lions gate bridge in Vancouver at night. I don't have a fancy camera - simple point and shoot digital one, but would love advice for taking pictures of this bridge all lite up at night. Any pointers/tip/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Docker123 Posted July 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2019 Cameras have various and varying controls and capabilities. If you could tell the make and model of the camera it will help the expert folks in giving a good answer. Good luck with your picture making. I am moving in a few days and it is already packed, but as soon as I unpack I will come back with all the details. I really appreciate your reply! Thank you. Heidi13 Posted July 20, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2019 Best option for getting photos of 1st Narrows bridge at night is to set up at Brockton Point in Stanley park with a tripod. However, if the only option is from a moving cruise ship during arrival or departure it will depend on the features available on your camera. If you have any ability to make manual adjustments, increase your ISO to the highest that provides reasonable results and if you can shoot Shutter or Aperture priority, take a number of photos at a variety of shutter speeds. Hopefully you have a night in Vancouver pre-cruise.
