doug618 Posted July 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Hi- This will be our first time in Roatan. Traveling with one person that needs to use a mobility scooter. We have arranged for private vehicle equipped to transport scooter. Looking for recommendation of best beach club with handicap access. The person cannot go onto the beach but would like to be as close to beach as possible with ability to sit in a covered area from sun and see the rest of group on the beach. Location also needs to have paved walkways to ride the scooter on. Any recommendations? Thank you
Guest 2000 Posted July 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Perhaps Infinity or Mayan, both of them have pools with I believe scooter friendly decks. Perhaps email them and or have a look at the pics on websites. I would be interested to see what your driver says.

This blog reviews travel with a wheelchair which may help with regards access https://spintheglobe.net/dir/2019/03/05/cruise-port-of-call-wheelchair-accessibility-review-roatan-honduras/ This site gives some indication of how accessible different venues are. I see they claim Sol y mar is accessible and I also found that on another site. I have been there but cannot remember a paved walkway to the beach but i think probably from the parking lot to the restaurant where you should be able to see the beach and restrooms, so might be worth checking out with your company. http://www.boddentours.com/accessible.htm You may get more first-hand answers here https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/114-disabled-cruise-travel/
