Moorea BBQ on Motu & Snorkeling vs Moana Tours

Does anyone know if the Moorea PG excursion, "BBQ on Motu & Snorkeling", is actually the Moana Tours Lagoon Excursion?

The descriptions on the PG site and Albert's site sound very much the same.

Booking privately is cheaper, of course, but we have $700 in OBC to burn so would book this thru PG if in fact it is Albert's tour.

Hmmm... I thought the PG Moto Picnic excursion on Moorea may be done by Poe Island Tours not Albert Moana Tours. But it appears the Poe tour is land (4x4) only with no boat ride or snorkeling as described by the PG or Moana Tours.

Just wish I knew for sure. I'm sure any would be fun, though.

We have done the BBQ on Motu and Snorkeling excursion offered by PG, and neither of those links look like it. There's no land portion at all. You're picked up by boat at the PG tender dock and stop for a few more passengers at IC Moorea if there's anyone from there coming along. You then stop where all the other boats stop to stand in the shallows while sharks and rays swim around. Then it's off to the beach on the further of the 2 motus close to shore where the Club Med used to be after continuing past the IC. They have a pavillon for cooking, some picnic tables, and a bathroom. After being dropped off by boat, you can swim in the shallows and snorkel. The snorkeling is good if you're comfortable in a current, and it depends on the tides how strong the current is, and which direction it's going. Out host on the motu showed us how to husk a coconut and open it, and how to make poisson cru. He and a man at the grill made a great meal for us. Our excursion was the only one on the motu, and there weren't many of us. We were in the shade, and had an enjoyable day.
