lhogan11 Posted September 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2019 We are on the December 28th sailing of Carnival Horizon. We are trying to book with Aruba Bob’s and they need to know if we will be on the same time zone as local time. Does anyone have info on this? I called Carnival and they told me they don’t have that information. Thanks in advance!
Joe817 Posted September 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) If you are asking if the ship's time is the same as local Aruba time, that's pretty easy to answer. Your ship's time will always be the time of the port you sailed from. Aruba is in the Atlantic Standard Time Zone. Same as New York City. https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/aruba Edited September 4, 2019 by Joe817 Additional info
five. Posted September 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2019 It goes by embarkation time zone, so Galveston is -5 during dst and -6 during std and Aruba is -4 year round. So during December local time will be two hours behind ship time.
lhogan11 Posted September 4, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted September 4, 2019 It sails from Miami, and I know Aruba does not observe Daylight Savings time. We will fall back an hour and Aruba will not so I’m assuming we will be one hour behind local time. That is if the ship does not adjust clocks. Just wondering if anyone has done this itinerary in December to confirm.
purplephenom Posted September 4, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2019 Have done this route on a different ship- no clocks were changed. I think it's very rare Carnival doesn't stick to home port time.
five. Posted September 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2019 Weird. I got that from goccl, but must've looked at it wrong. Now showing out of Miami not Gavelston. I think I looked at Vista not Horizon earlier.
