bennybear Posted December 22, 2019 #26 Share Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) Prefer the Bandol to the Tavel. Now I need to look for the Bellets. Good thing I have a friend in Nice! My husband loves the Banyuls, somewhat port like taste but golden in hue. Actually also enjoy a lot of the wines from the Languedoc, didn’t hurt that we stumbled upon a tasting and then a dinner with paired wines at our B and B. Love the joy of travelling and experiencing the local wine. Edited December 22, 2019 by bennybear
marazul Posted December 22, 2019 #27 Share Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) There are about a dozen growers in Bellet. My favorites are the Château de Cremat and the Château de Bellet. They are also the largest growers. And a friend in Nice is how we also get them! Our friend is a friend of one of the smaller growers who makes some lovely wines. Unfortunately, it is so small that it is only available locally. I agree, I much prefer them to the Tavels. edinburgher Posted December 23, 2019 #28 Share Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) As do we. They are a little more robust than Tavel, as are some of the Chilean roses which we also like.😁😁 And thanks for the heads up. Next time we are in the area we will look for the Beliet as we are not that far away from Nice and our French friends do enjoy their wines.. Thank you for all of your suggestions. The best cruise gift I ever bought for myself (😀) was from a kitchen goods shop that we found as we were walking back down from the Norte Dame. It was quite fancy with lots of stainless steel items. I bought myself a little gadget to ***** holes in eggs before boiling them. Who would have known that it works so well! Every time I have boiled eggs I think of Marseille.
