LAX Taxi to long beach - Flat Rate?

I think the closest thing to a flat rate would be to take an Uber and make sure you like the estimated fare before you get in. Cant think of any taxi that does a flat rate anywhere and wouldn't really want to chance it on a meter in that sort of traffic. 

 

If we don't rent a car in LA we usually use Uber and the estimates are very reliable.

There are flat rate taxis at other airports (JFK,MIA,etc.)but I have not seen them at LAX.

I  have just learned that the flat rate is to a small number of hotels in downtown LA.
