Lido Balconies on Crown Class Ships

Hi all - this will be our third sailing with Princess. We were on the Coral w/ a balcony through the Panama Canal, then an Oceanview room with floor to ceiling windows on the Grand last year. Next year, we'll be on the Crown.

We really liked the location of our room on the Grand - it didn't have a balcony, but we were steps away from the deck so we could always go outside.

We've tentatively picked L311 for a Norwegian Fjords cruise. Two questions: this is the last balcony on the Lido deck - does anyone have photos of what it looks like towards the stern? Also - is the balcony covered?

You're basically looking back towards a slight divider, then down the length of the ship. There is a bump out divider - essentially to guarantee your privacy from people peeping from the deck, so to speak. But a slight lean and you can look back along the side if the ship..

Balcony is fully covered.  If at all possible, I'd pick one forward of the stairs, much much less foot traffic.  L301 or forward. That cabin by the doors out to deck gets a lot of foot traffic past it.

Agree with post #2. People who exit the elevators and wish to go onto the lido deck public areas will be walking past your cabin. Your cabin will be adjacent to an automatic door which will open and close all day and evening. You can see those doors on the deck plans as squiggly lines. Would suggest you select a cabin forward of the elevators starting with L256/9.

Balconies are fully covered on decks 15 as well as 14, 12, 11. Half covered on deck 10, but twice as large,   9' x 9'. Deck 9 are uncovered. The 12 balcony cabins on deck 8 are covered.

Looking aft from L311 you will see a solid wall.

My personal preference are the cat. BD cabins aft on decks 11 and 10.
