Mazatlan

We were supposed to arrive in puerta Vallarta on  nov 7. Our ship (Celebrity Infinity) is being redirected to Mazatlan. Are the beaches good? Can we take a cab to one from the pier?

What kind of experience are you seeking? Food? Drinks? Loungers? Umbrellas? Quiet?

I’d rent a chair. Drinks are good! We just want to spend some time on a beautiful beach. Not too far from the port. Thank you.

Do you know any reason why Puetro Vallarta is canceled? Is that definitive?

Strange to cancel PV?? In Mazatlan folks leave the port and walk to the left to where you can take a water taxi to Stone Island. There will be volunteers standing outside the port who can direct you.

At Stone Island there will be beach,restaurants and activities.

Thank you for your help.  Apparently there are going to be too many ships docked there that day. I don’t know if the decision was made by the harbor master or the captain. We had no excursions planned and I’m always up for a new adventure.

Port has too many ships scheduled and our departure time was early. Don’t know if captain or harbor master made decision. It’s definitive since they’ve already credited purchased excursions back to customers’ accounts and are selling yours in Mazatlan

OK thanks for telling this! Indeed there are 3 more ships docked that day.

Stone Island is a perfect excursion that you can do on your own.  You take a water taxi ($2 round trip), walk down the beach and find a spot that calls your name.  I can recommend Lety's.  Comp lounge chairs and umbrellas with the purchase of food and/or drink.  Excellent food, very reasonably priced and great service.  Spent a whole day on Stone Island in August and can't wait to go back in June.
