Hyatt in Fort Lauderdale

Can anyone comment on the differences between Hyatt Place and Hyatt House? Needed for one or two nights pre-cruise.

Hyatt Place is a great location...right next to the Harbor shopping center which has a Publix market, shops and restaurants.

It's one of our favorite pre-cruise hotels. Just stayed there last month but for post-cruise days at the end of our snowbird itinerary.

Is that the hotel connected to the Convention Centre?

It's not connected ... it's on 17th Street and is referred to as the convention center location.

Just to clarify - there are TWO Hyatt Places in the FOrt Lauderdale area and both are heavily used by cruisers.  We like the one on 17th Street/Convention Area, as it is closer to the pier and has good shopping and dining nearby.  The other HP is futher away (and is across from Hyatt House) and the shopping and dining is more limited.  All three Hyatt properties have free (or cheap) airport shuttles and offer pier shuttles for a reasonable fee.

Hyatt place is  a hotel room but real nice, and the Hyatt House is Like Resident Inn, it's a room like a suite room. you can have dogs there. ... The Hyatt house is more for an extended stay they include kitchens/microwaves etc. and they have studio, 1 bedroom rooms.

Actually there are 3 Hyatt Place hotel in the FLL area, the 3rd one is in Plantation.
