We are interested in doing this excursion is July. Has anyone experienced it? I am wondering how much walking/hiking there is? I

am going with a group where some of us have challenges.

Any information would be appreciated.

There is a lot more sitting in a bus riding than walking in the rainforest.  We felt that the transportation time and forced stop at a souvenir shop took too much time and did not give us enough time in the rainforest.

We were taken to the tower/fort at the top - interesting.  The road is steep and wet.  The tour bus lets you off then goes to park. You have to walk back to the bus.  Again, it's steep and wet but the scenery is great.  They also let us off at a waterfall next to the road to take photos. We stopped at a souvenir store on the return trip to let people use the facilities.  We got to see a bit of the island outside of San Juan but that was before the last hurricane.
