WCAB Posted December 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) I am not a big gambler but enjoy playing slots a bit after dinner. I neglected to buy casino credits within 14 days and hate the idea of any gambling going on my credit card. Is there a way to pay without putting it on my designated credit card. Could I purchase credits using cash or a debit card at Customer Service once on board? Edited December 2, 2019 by WCAB replaced a word.
MsSoCalCruiser Posted December 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2019 You can use cash.
EDDY0827 Posted December 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2019 Bring cash and feed the machines. A lot simpler than depositing the same cash at the PSD and then taking it through the casino. If you bought casino credits, iirc, they give you cash when you redeem your credits.
Steelers36 Posted December 2, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2019 You can take cash to the casino cage and deposit funds onto your cruise card or Medallion AFAIK.
Papa Yoda Posted December 2, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) Yahbut if you use a points or cash back credit card for your onboard account you get the casino cash and the points / cash back. It just occurs to me that 2% cash back may even up the casino odds... Edited December 2, 2019 by Ferd Berfle
Thrak Posted December 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2019 You can buy regular OBC. Make a casino account and transfer as much of your "regular" OBC as you like to the account. I've never understood the need to buy Casino Credits. I was accidentally given $25 in Casino Credits on one of my recent cruises when a Princess employee somehow managed to apply one of my "bonus OBC" credits in that manner. I took the voucher to the Casino and they gave me cash. Weird. I had a lot of "regular" OBC so I made an account on a slot machine and transferred something like $250 to that account. It's not difficult and, if you want to gamble, you can easily buy as much OBC as you like online before cruising.
Greg4502 Posted December 2, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2019 You also have to remember to cash out your winnings, on your cruise card, before getting off the ship. I don't gamble much and I forgot to do this. But about a month after my cruise, I received a check in the mail from Princess with my winnings.
Rare roxievegas Posted December 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2019 to be clear if you play in the casino you must set up an account with your medallion the first time you play. if you play cash. Go to the machine, but in your money, and then touch your medallion to the medallion pad follow instructions to set up your account - if you do not you can not take your money out of the machine. example: you put in $20, play .60 per hand for ten hands, win nothing and want to try another machine - if you don't have your account set up, you won't get your $14.00 that is left in the machine. - the machine does not give you cash or a ticket back. if you don't play cash, you use your medallion to charge the amount you want to play to your cabin. If you win you can go to the cashier and get the cash amount that is in your account. example: you put in $20, play your .60 per hand. play 10 hands and win $100 - you now have $114.00 in your account - you can cash it out or keep it on your account so you can continue to play another day.
