O-Class ships, docking Leningrad

We are due in on Marina in mid September (fairly typical 2x-overnight).

Does anyone know if the O-class ships generally sidle up close to downtown, or do they need to dock on Vasilevsky Island with the larger, mass-market lines?

Thanks.

Thanks.

The O class ships are too large to use the in town wharves such as the English Embankment.

FWIW,  I don't believe that St. Petersburg has  been called Leningrad since the end of the Cold War.

Shawnino--

this will not pertain to you cruising into St P in September, but other cruisers should research when Navy Day is there.

We were in St P in July and all the cruise ships, regardless of size were docked waaay out of town.  The Russian Navy takes over downtown --as well as 'celebrating' sailors!  Fireworks, parades, Mr. Putin's presence are all part of a big holiday there.

The Marina will dock at the Marine Facade on Vasilevsky Island.  The 2020 port schedule is not yet online but if you check back in a month or two, you can find the terminal and berth number for your ship.

We sailed on the Marina several years ago - great itinerary, wonderful cruise! We have another cruise visit planned for September 2020 - X this time rather than O. Hope you enjoy your cruise.
