Jost van dyke

Hi,

 

Can you recommend a private charter to Jost Van Dyke from St.Thomas?  We are a group of thirteen that would like to go.  Also, is it just as easy to get to Jost van Dyke from St. Thomas as it is from Tortola ?

It's been a couple of years since I went but I used VIBE charters twice.  They were very reliable.  St. Thomas is not as easy to get to Jost as Tortola because you have to go through customs going from USVI to BVI.  I always gave myself extra time getting back to make sure we made the cruise ship.

Also, you have to go through customs on the way back to the USVI. Check the BVI fees; they have a bunch which are in addition to your charter fees. IMHO, you should reserve Jost for a time you are in the BVI and enjoy the USVI while there.😉

Kristen, Some previous responses in the thread below. Of course your port arrival and departure times are crucial in determining what, if any, option works for you. What are your arrival/departure times?
 

Jost Van Dyke is difficult for a day visitor to get to even from Road Town, and unless you have  12 hours in port there, the best option is through the cruise line. From St Thomas, Jost is definitely doable, it’s just the customs fees that you have to consider, and of course you all need current passports. Customs fees vary from ~$30/pp for the ferry to ~$75+/pp for private charters. There are a few popular smaller (6 pax) powerboat operators but they won’t work for you.

I wanted to add we took a charter the left Roadtown early.  We were at the beach two hours before the ship’s excursion arrived stayed an hour later than them.
