Port Everglades to FLL, earliest flight?

For a 10:06 flight you need to be at FLL by about 8:30 - and 8:00 is better with the typical TSA chaos.  What time does your ship come in? 😕  PE to FLL is about a 10+ minute taxi ride (and the fare on the meter should be aobut $15+).  Assuming you can walk off, with bags, and clear customs/immigraiton by about 7:30 or so you should be okay.

Should I be comfortable booking a flight at 11:10?

Yes.  Even with an international flight and the need to check in a bit early you should be okay. For your 11:10 flight you need to be at FLL by about 9:00, which translates into off the ship with bags and clear of customs and immigration by about 8:30-45. Should not be too challenging.

Hi. We made a 9:01am flight yesterday. Ship docked at 7. We were in line with our bags to walk off at 6:45. Line started moving at 7:10. Not many passengers at immigration yet and 4 lanes open. Cursory glance at passports and out. My parents, who were on the cruise with us, had driven to the port. Their car was in the midport lot. They dropped us at airport. There at 7:50 and through security and waiting at gate at 8:10.

We walked right past the taxi stand on way to garage. Only one person in line at time we walked by. Probably would have gotten to airport earlier in taxi versus having to go to garage, load up 4 people, get out, pay.....

It worked. We were lucky. We had a back up plan!

We had no back-up plan and luckily we didn't need one.  We lined up at 6:40 a.m. to express walk off Allure of the Seas last Sunday (1/19) and made it to the airport with plenty of time to catch our 9:50 a.m. flight.  I wouldn't hesitate to do it again as long as all parties were able to handle own luggage and be ready to line up early.  We had a private shuttle prearranged as we were a party of 5 and knew it would require multiple taxis or ubers otherwise.
