Woke up on disembarkation day to the sights and sounds of Port Canaveral! I held a brief moment of excitement for the upcoming passengers that would board in a few hours, then remembered we were departing...😩

Bittersweet best describes this day haha! Anyway, we gathered our last bit of belongings and headed up to the windjammer for breakfast. Then we headed to the schooner bar to meet up with the other suite guests and Tao for our escort off the ship. Once off the ship, we found the much discussed customs and immigration robots and poof! we were done! Just a quick facial scan and that’s it!

I found that interesting.  As we are departing along the hallway after the gang plank, the agents were shouting at us  "Have your passport out and ready, you will meet with the customs agent, then collect your bags".   Huh??!!  Do those agents even check out the luggage room...at all?  That was the old system, someone needs to clue those agents in to the process.  🤨

Same thing happened last month on Harmony.  No customs agent, no showing of passport, quick facial scan...pick up luggage and gone.  Sweetest disembarkation!  And yet...agents were shouting at us on that one also to "have passports out and in hand".  Sheeezzz...

Great point! I totally forgot about that, because after the facial scan we stood there with our passports kind of wondering what was next and what we were supposed to do! We kept them out until we had our bags and were outside...only then we fully realized that we were done done haha

Yeah, the agents shouting about the passports really confuses pax indeed.  😮 If I had another cruise out of PC coming up soon, I think I would quietly approach one of those agents and ask that person if they are actually aware of the facial recognition and no customs agent to see. 😉

They are programmed (like robots) to say "have your passport out and ready, you will meet with the customs agent, then collect your bags".  If you said anything to them they would say, "it does not compute". 😉

LOL....that's about right...though I have met some that recognize us from previous cruises, (we always stop to chat with the regulars that we know) and in fact were on Mariner with two of the former check in desk ladies (one is my neighbor).  They are both pretty on top of things, but wow...some of them must be from planet Mars or something.  😉

Fantastic review!  Just the information  I was looking for.  Leaving in 9 days. We are going as part of a Green Bay Packer’s Legends cruise.  I’m thinking the itinerary might be a little different for us, but very helpful. Thank you!
