We just got off a cruise that was over New Years.  There was a few tuxes but mostly suits however many men were in neither.  However they did enforce the dress code in the MDR so it will depend on how you want to dine.

We've recently done NZ from Brisbane (Nov/Dec).  The men in our group and at our dinner table wore dark suits (MDR).  There were a few tuxes around and a couple of preteens in dark pants, long sleeve button up shirts and ties.

Most people make an effort to dress up. For some men (like DH) that means a tux, for others a suit, more common is dark pants and jacket with or without a tie or a long sleeve shirt with tie. For ladies it ranges from evening gown, cocktail dress, or dark pants and dressy top.

On Ruby last month they were turning away people wearing jeans and/or trainers.

On a recent cruise to New Zealand, my husband decided he was not taking a suit for formal nights for the first time.  He wore a long sleeved shirt and tie. He was certainly not alone in his clothes choice for the night and there were others with all sorts of combinations, jacket and no tie some even with short sleeves and some even more casually dressed in polo shirts.

Seeing as you have a long way to travel, I would consider leaving the suit at home and don't think you will feel out of place.

What do you mean please because Princess has not enforced men to wear a suit in all my experience with them (a decade or so?), but I don't go back forever of course.  If you mean enforcing no shorts, flip flops, athletic workout wear, etc, then yes.
