HI

I am having such a hard time with the search feature here. I am sure it has been posted before but cannot find the answer to my questions.  I have an opportunity to book the gem 10 day caribbean at a great price. I have looked at the 2 bedroom suite cat- SC. I understand that I have a butler and  concierage that is available to me. Was trying to figure out what perks the SC has besides those 2. Been a long time since we have been in a suite and things have changed over the years.

Few questions:

- The room service - I know Haven gets it free, but do they charge you the service fee if ordering other than continental in this category?

- I know I get priorty embarkation ( am Plat Plus) but do you embark with the Haven or after them when in a SC?

-Concierage service  is availbale  for  me- Does the concierage  take you off the ship at ports as priority as they do with the haven in this category?

- Gem does not have haven restaurant so with  being in SC do I get to eat in Cageneys for breaksfast or modernos? Can't remeber which one they use.

-Room selection- Would like to be on port side but am limited to what is available

Cabin selection- I have looked at the deck plans and even the site where you can drag the deck plans over one another and you tube  tours of the fitness center to get an idea.. SO that bein said looking for input if anyone has stayed in these rooms.

Cabin 11518-from searching is under the fitness center  but towards the end of the center. If you understand what I mean. Concerned about noise. don't want to wake up at 5 am to noise.

Cabin 11512- Looks like wt room is above it. most likely not a good choice.

Cabin 1130- Pool above it  but  it is on the starboard side  in the area where the stairs are going up to the bali bar- so not too bad for an option

Cabin 11012-  Library right above it on starboard side.  great choice but not on port side ---

I know at this point can't be picky- just looking for input on port side cabins.

Any input is greatly appreciated thanks

We were in 11018 on the Gem, 2 bedroom suite.  Great room, comes with all the suite amenities except the small haven pool area. You still get everything else. Breakfast was in Moderno and lunch was Cagney's. We also had full served breakfast/lunch (anything from the Moderno/Cagneys menus) delivered to our room via the butler. No need for regular room service or room service menu. Embarkation is done same as haven.  In NYC we were in the small Suite lounge and were first upon the ship with the concierge groups. We did receive priority disembarking as well as priority tender. Everything you would have if your room was on the haven deck. Choose the 11012 suite, you won't be sorry you have a quiet area above you. We had no issues with noise at all. Enjoy your cruise!

The room service - I know Haven gets it free, but do they charge you the service fee if ordering other than continental in this category? Nope, just the free breakfast delivery, as far as we knew so that’s all we ever ordered.

- I know I get priorty embarkation ( am Plat Plus) but do you embark with the Haven or after them when in a SC? We embarked with Haven, they brought us into the little Haven waiting room at port and then escorted us up directly into Cagneys for lunch.

-Concierage service  is availbale  for  me- Does the concierage  take you off the ship at ports as priority as they do with the haven in this category? They do if you ask them to!

- Gem does not have haven restaurant so with  being in SC do I get to eat in Cageneys for breaksfast or modernos? Can't remeber which one they use. I believe breakfast was in Moderno, lunch was Cagneys.  We only did the breakfast on the last day which was a mistake because it was REALLY good.

We were in 11030 this summer and it was NOT quiet.  Lots of noise above, I think because the stairs were right on top of us you could hear people pounding up & down and a lot of stuff being dragged around.  As the cruise went on and people got more relaxed/the kids starting running around more, the noise from above got louder.  If you are a light sleeper, avoid this room at all costs!  Otherwise it’s a great room though.

The GEM and the JEWEL being the same on deck floor plan design -

I haven't been on the GEM - the JEWEL yes -

SC suites on deck 11 the Starboard side is less noisy - overhead is the card club library hair salon and photo studio.

The port side the cabins to avoid are 11512 11518 11524 the fitness center is overhead with the machines although

the hours of use are limited at night. Cabin 11530 may have deck chair storage overhead

Best and only cabin port side to consider is 11506.

Now if left with druthers (what is left available) any SC cabin you can certainly live with it !

For all intents and purposes, if you are in a Suite, not a mini-suite, you get all the same perks just as if you are in the Haven.  The only caveat is if the ship actually has a Haven area, you usually do not get access to the Haven.

Yes  full suite and thank you
