helicopter and float planes for someone with ear issues

Do float planes and / or helicopters for excursion to glaciers and other flightseeing go up high enough to cause the pain in the ears that some people get on regular airplane flights?

Max elevation on our flight around Denali and landing at base camp was about 7,800'. Should not be a problem. There are trips that go higher but they are not pressurized cabins but do provide air masks. At 20,000' your ears will feel it.

I have issues with air pressure in my ears on commercial flights but did not have issues with float planes in ketchikan or Anchorage or in helicopters.

I don't think the OP was talking about around Denali. I think they were talking about in Juneau, or similar...much lower altitudes. But I could be wrong.

Correct CruiserBruce, I will not go to Denali, only Ketchican, Juneau and Skagway.  Ports are Vancouver and Anchorage.

Sorry I see I was unclear:  we start in Vancouver and end in Anchorage (Whittier).

I have taken a float plane in Ketchikan and a helicopter in Juneau and never had a problem with my ears --- I am someone who needs earplugs when on an airplane.
