wales4ever Posted February 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2020 We are on the October 1 cruise on the SUN. Does it matter at all which side of the ship we are on? Thanks 🙂
smplybcause Posted February 4, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Look at the route. I'm pretty sure the Sun is round trip so it's likely one side will be shore on the way up the other on the way back. With a lot of time with land on both sides (with a lot of the ports you sail out the same way you came in). At the glaciers they spin in a circle. wales4ever Posted February 4, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Yes thats right, its up and back down. Though like most cruises, too far from the shore to see much anyway lol
smplybcause Posted February 4, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Once you start getting close to ports you can see a bit more. The sail-in to Skagway is quite a bit in an inlet with land on both sides. Juneau was similar. Though without bionics you didn't see much besides land and houses lol. I remember in Glacier Bay they were talking about a bear, but without bionics I couldn't figure out what black dot was the bear vs which were rocks. You could zoom right in on things . Edited February 4, 2020 by ColeThornton
4774Papa Posted February 4, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2020 We did Alaska on the Sun and had an aft-balcony, it was great. An aft-balcony is great because you get the cold breeze that you get on cabins one Starboard or Port.
