boom_boom Posted February 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2020 If you want to maximize the Seaway views/experience, does it make any difference if you sail north to south or south oi north in late September? Looking at either HAL or Queen May 2.

Not substantially-- just depends on whether you are a morning person or not if you want to see arrival/departure from Quebec. 13 hours ago, boom_boom said: Looking at either HAL or Queen May 2. Choice of ship will obviously mandate going all the way to Montreal or to Quebec as QM2 is too big to get to Montreal. We took QM2 ending in Quebec a few years back and then took a train to Montreal-- thought this worked out better as it gave us more time in Montreal than spending that next night sailing. Rare martincath Posted February 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Unless this would be a 2+ week long cruise it probably won't make a jot of difference as even at the end of a 7 or 10 day you're too early to see leaves changed unless it's a very weird year. Go in early October though and northbound becomes better most likely - leaves start changing in the north and work their way southward as a general trend. dfields1814 Posted February 17, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2020 We are not taking ay chances. We booked a B2B. NYC TO Quebec City to NYC. LOL. Actually there are several ports we wanted to spend more time in than 8 hours. And I have family in Halifax and Sydney. The only difference on our cruises is that one has Newport RI and the other has Saguenay. Other than that I don't see much of a difference. Mtngirl2 Posted February 19, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2020 Agree with all.......go in early October to maximize fall foliage! B2B is a great way to do this itinerary.....you get to do all the ports a second time and go back and spend more time at these beautiful areas! It is a GREAT cruise and have fun! boom_boom Posted February 24, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted February 24, 2020 Since a B2B wouldn't fit our time limits, we opted to sail out of Quebec City on 7 Oct. Thanks for the welcome input.
