ProvincetownCruiser Posted February 15, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Hi We received a beverage package and an on board spending credit as an early booking incentive and have no idea how they work, are they on a separate card or on your room card, do you have to let the server know when ordering or purchasing something or is it automatic when you get a qualifying drink or purchase? Very easy. The On Board Spending credit is on your account and you will see it when you get a statement or look it up on Navigator). Anything you charge to your card will be debited to the on board spending credit until it is used up and then charged to you. The Beverage package is noted on your shipboard key card. Staff know you have the package and as long as you stay within the limits of alcoholic drinks of $11 and under and no more than 15 of them (non alcoholic drinks are unlimited), you will incur no charges. TAD2005 Posted February 15, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Remember that the $11 max drink price is the menu price for your drink. You do not have to consider the 15% service charge when determining if a particular drink is included in your package. Because you have received the SBP through a promotion, the 15% service charge has already been paid. This also applied if you purchase the SBP with your own money. You have paid the 15% when you bought the package. Also, the new drink menus do not show every possible mixed drink you can get, there's just not enough room. To figure the price of a drink, just find the price of the base alcohol that it is made from (vodka, gin, rum, scotch, etc) and that will be the price of the drink. The mixers and fruit are no charge. A rum and coke will cost whatever the price of a shot of the rum you call for. Call brands are allowed as long as a shot of that alcohol is $11 or under. Drinks that have multiple types of alcohol, like a Rusty Nail, Black Russian, Long Island Ice Tea, Wang Wang, are all still included in the $11 limit and count as one drink. You can even order a double, such as a double vodka gimlet made with Absolute. You can get that, it just counts as 2 of your daily 15. If you have your eyes on a premium double malt, and the price is over $11, You can order it, but it will not be included in your package, you will pay the full menu price plus 15%. You cannot just pay the difference, you pay the full price. That drink will not count in your daily 15.

deliver42 Posted February 16, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2020 The pricing difference between HAL and Celebrity is amazing. If you go over the classic pkg price on X you pay the difference, not the whole drink.

HAL charges $51.70 total per day and your max drink price is $11. So for the extra $19 per day, Celebrity can easily afford to allow you to just pay the difference in a drink exceeding their $9 limit.
