Do the smaller ships give you a smaller experience?

We have sailed Oceania several times but only on Marina and Riviera and loved them. We are contemplating a cruise on Insignia. What differences positive and negative might we encounter?

We love both the O and the R ships.  They each have their own personalities and provide different ship board experiences .  I would say that the R-ships provide a more intimate experience, which is not the same as a smaller experience. I would say that the O-ships provide a wider culinary experience, but that's not to say the R-ships are lacking on their own, more limited culinary experiences.

We like to smaller R-ships' ability to go to areas that the larger O-ships can't because of their size.  We like the O-ships for their size and stability when it comes with rough waters and open seas, since one of us is more sensitive to the ship's motion.

How do we choose?  We  go with the itinerary.
