iMessage on Escape

Does anyone know if iMessage works on the Escape? I know i used it on the Breakaway few years back.

If you connect to the ships Wi-fi, wouldn't you then need to be using the internet plan for i-Message to work?

I hope you are right, that would potentially be better than the messaging ap in the NCL ap.

I believe NCL patched the loophole a while ago. I don't have an iPhone, but the stuff I used to be able to do with my Android without paying (when I knew iMessage was working with iPhones) has long since stopped working. Only thing I can do without paying is NCL's app -- and I guess maybe they let you go to cruise critic too.

When you message someone with the NCL app, do you need an internet plan? 

 

I'm assuming you don't need an internet plan to view everything else on the app such as daily events and whatnot, right?

You don't need an internet plan...you pay $9.95 for the messaging service on the app. You can only message people on the ship.

Yes...the rest of the app works for free for events, accounts etc.

We were a group of 10 and kept in touch quite easily. The messaging is fairly instant. The only problem we found was there was no 'sound' when a message arrived so you had to keep checking the app to see if there were any messages.

Just so you know it uses the ships wifi.
