Yea, meanwhile they screwed thousands of us and told us this exactly. It was either lose thousands of dollars or take a risk for those of us who sailed on the 7th, 8th and 9th. Such a bad move of NCL's part, I could now care less what happens to them through all of this. That aside, I can say with 99% certainty that whatever you were offered from CAS this time around, you will be offered again when you re-book. I just got off the Bliss today (booked through CAS)
Joyce898 Posted March 15, 2020 #52 Share Posted March 15, 2020 I have a land based cruise certificate. I was told by the consultant that once the booked cruise is cancelled, it will take some time to get the money applied to a FCC. She could not guarantee that when I call in 7 days later that the FCC will be available to use on the new booking's fees - admin, port fees, etc. If the FCC is not available, then have to pay for the new fees and keep FCC. Can I use the FCC on board for excursions, duty free shop, the spa, etc?

It is for booking the cruise and what that might include, not anywhere being referenced as something that could translate similarly to OBC. Joyce898 Posted March 15, 2020 #54 Share Posted March 15, 2020 If anyone has experience with re-booking their cruise, please comment on how long it took for you to get FCC to your account and if it was available for you to use on your new re-booked cruise X days later. poffles Posted March 15, 2020 #55 Share Posted March 15, 2020 Just now, Joyce898 said: If anyone has experience with re-booking their cruise, please comment on how long it took for you to get FCC to your account and if it was available for you to use on your new re-booked cruise X days later. The earliest Peace of Mind that would provide FCC was only Tuesday past. They have said it will take 7 days to get to the customers NCL latitudes account. I canceled the first day I could since I was set to sail today and it is still not in my account but that is to be expected. So, if we go by what NCL and everyone has been stating, the first FCCs will not reach accounts until Tuesday at the earliest. I will add another tidbit.... when i called Tuesday and cancelled, the actual cancellation in the system did not happen until Thursday (I called back to check since I continued to see the booking as being active). Apparently the ones taking the calls were writing the detail down for other agents to actually do the cancellation and of course the piles grew. So even though I was dated Tuesday as cancelled it was not in the system until Thursday so I don't expect to see anything until this Thursday. Just very interesting times. My cruise was set to sail on April 12, one day after the 30 suspension. I will wait and see if they extend this suspension and try to get the refund rather than FCC. Welcome ... hopefully you get the option to choose a refund if that makes more sense for you when the time comes. I wish I would have had that choice in this time of uncertainty. 😞
egurbi Posted April 4, 2020 #58 Share Posted April 4, 2020 I've read on this Board one instance of how a land based casino certificate was handled by CAS for a cancelled cruise, but that was some time ago. I am now in that same boat as I was using a casino certificate for a cruise embarking on May 10th. Can others who are similarly situated please share their experiences with CAS? I would be very grateful. Most interested in how they are treating the casino certificate/are they honoring it even if it is long past expiration/and for how long? Thank you. As your cruise is cancelled by NCL, if you selected for the FCCs, NCL said you would get a 125% of FCC and any other extra FCCs. FCCs are split among all passengers listed. If you want a refund, that would take at least 90 days. As for the FCCs, at least 7-10 business days. You can call NCL CAS telephone # from Monday to Friday. They would be able to help you in regards to any questions you have. For me, they told me that I can select any cruises up to 9 days (besides Alaska, Hawaii, Europe), but must sail by Sept. 30, 2020
akfan Posted April 4, 2020 #60 Share Posted April 4, 2020 I called and rebooked a different ship for April of next year and did not have to put a deposit down or anything. Will have just a little FCC left.
RHilla619 Posted April 4, 2020 Author #61 Share Posted April 4, 2020 Poohdreaming - I got the same answer, could rebook my comp cruise but had to sail by September 30 2020. That option didn't work for me as I already have other cruises booked for June & August (which I'm guessing will also be cancelled), and I can't take off of work in September. Was really hoping to have the comp extended to April or June of 2021, like akfan did. But I guess we had different offers or different player status. akfan Posted April 5, 2020 #64 Share Posted April 5, 2020 Press 4 for the casino at sea option. I had no trouble rebooking for 2021 on my April 12 cancelled cruise.
Joyce898 Posted April 5, 2020 #65 Share Posted April 5, 2020 For those who had a deadline to cruise by a certain date, was this a CAS cruise offer or a land based cruise certificate (i.e. Harrahs)
egurbi Posted April 6, 2020 #66 Share Posted April 6, 2020 Sharing my own experience: Was able to book using a land based casino cruise certificatethat had already expired for a cruise in 2021 (on a different ship) for the same itinerary on a cruise cancelled in early May 2020 by NCL in which I had used the same land based casino certificate (cruise is 364 days after original date for embarkation). All FCC could be used to pay administrative fee, port taxes, and dining plan gratuities. However 25% bonus FCC could NOT be used to pay anything in conjunction with the land based certificate use. It can be used for a different cruise not using a land based certificate I was told. Land Based certificate was for an inside room, and included 3 free at sea offers (dining plan, internet, excursion credit). Also $100 OBC offered. I had thought I was entitled to all five of the free at seas under the existing promotion, but my wife and I hardly drink and in any event I thought it was more than fair the way NCL handled this. Joyce898 Posted April 6, 2020 #67 Share Posted April 6, 2020 (edited) I have a cruise certificate from a land based casino. Gave me the option to get a refund Or rebook cruise with the following guidelines: They are extending out the cruise certificates to include cruises up to December 31, 2021 but do not include cruises in June, July, Nye. Have until May 12th to rebook using my ffc. They will approve the cruise with ffc even if they aren't in my latitudes account yet. They will match the iteneraries that were on my original cruise certificate. Edited April 6, 2020 by Joyce898 More detail
jd1212 Posted April 8, 2020 #68 Share Posted April 8, 2020 I cancelled a cruise that I had booked using a land based casino certificate. Final payment not due for awhile. The agent told me I could book another cruise using the same CAS certificate; we decided not to do so. Was told that the 2 CN certificates will be returned to my account -- haven't checked to see if they have been returned yet. Was told I will receive my deposit back ($100), but no time frame was indicated.
CruiseFuse Posted April 22, 2020 #69 Share Posted April 22, 2020 We had a comp’d cruise booked for July through CAS. We upgraded to a suite, paid for add-ons and excursions. On March 24 I called CAS to cancel (final payment date was April 2). In 10 days we got our excursion money and add-ons refunded to our cc. Yesterday, April 21, we had the rest of our payment refunded on our cc. Our ‘free cruise’ is still available for us to use per an email from CAS, once we choose to rebook.
