NO ocean cruises until Sept. 15

I am sure you saw this yesterday:

 

WASHINGTON, June 19, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) issued the following statement today to announce that the association's ocean-going cruise line members will voluntarily extend the suspension of cruise operations from U.S. ports until 15 September 2020

 

On March 12 Princess announced a 60 day suspension of all cruises and everyone said (what is Princess thinking, they can't do that).  The loyal Princess cruisers said "The rest of the cruise industry will just be licking their chops."  I remember all so well when the CDC extended their NO SAIL ORDER on April 9 which stated that the cruise lines could not operate in the US for 100 days or until they got their act together.  The cruise lines were not happy, yet today only 70 days into that order, they have decided not to sail until at least September 15 (60 days after that 100 day order expires).  My guess is the cruise lines still haven't decided HOW they can make cruising work in the future (for the cruise lines, crew and guests).

 

I guess they think they can figure it out and carry it out within the next 90 days, I say good luck, their track record has been terrible.

 

September 15 will mark more than 6 months from that initial Princess suspension, I wonder when the next suspension extension will be announced.

Princess has already cancelled cruises till end of Oct.  So September dates have already been passed up.
