norn iron Posted September 14, 2020 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) We have a cruise booked for 11th May 2021 on Pursuit leaving starting in Tokyo and ending in Singapore. Azamara have today confirmed the cancelation of the cruise and all of the other Pursuit cruises in Asia between March and May. So at least they have supplied adequate notice, unlike for others whom have been posting on these boards. I am now reading the small print of what the options are to re book etc. The new itineraries for the remainder of 2022 and 2023 are published tomorrow Edited September 14, 2020 by norn iron typo
Rare uktog Posted September 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2020 Whilst sad you are losing your cruise, it is indeed good to hear that much earlier notifications are now being received.
blag Posted September 14, 2020 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2020 Wow! When I received the email generated by this post the date of the cruise was May 2020, and assumed norn iron was being iron-ic.
Richteab Posted September 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2020 Just heard the same news by email. Thwarted again, for the second time! We will be looking at Far East for 2022 but looking carefully at the cancellation options Azamara are offering.

vslparis Posted September 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2020 Looks like the Pursuit will be doing the Greek Isles area in April and May. March 27th shows pending for a 15 night sailing.
norn iron Posted September 14, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted September 14, 2020 Pursuit is having a Dry Dock in March, this may well have been scheduled for Singapore as she was cruising in Asia at that time. Could she be making the journey to Singapore and then returning to Europe? It certainly appears the dry dock is outside of Europe, alternatively in the Caribbean? This is a quote from the email I received today from Azamara. "Following the ship's scheduled drydock at the end of March, we will bring the ship directly back to Europe for a series of new 7-night Greece Intensive voyages". Interesting wording with the use of the word "back". Quite a long haul needing the canal and pirate security to head to Singapore from Glasgow. Maybe though its actually a very well written post Brexit communication and the work is being done much closer to home 🙂 🙂

To be fair that one confuses many great leaders and commentators 🙂

I doubt they will still bring the ship to Australia for only those Jan-Mar 2021 sailings. Most likely she will be laid up for the entire season. They do not mention the location of the drydock. Due to the small size of Azamara ships, this can be taken place at many docks in Europe. I don't think Pursuit has to go to Singapore or the Americas. Also, the new Greek isles itineraries on Pursuit (May - June 2021) are already available.
