Holland America just canceled my cruise

So, I just got the dreaded e-mail that my cruise was canceled because it is for 10 nights.  Where it is a casino comp (I did pay extra to upgrade my cabin), I am not sure what to do.  I may just ask for a refund.  If I take the FCC, what if they don't offer another comp?  Then, I would have to pay a lot more .  Any thoughts?

My 19 day in April was cancelled today as well. Considering the fact I've had numerous cruises cancelled I've decided to hang the 125% extra and 250.00 onboard credit option. Best to cash out and I assume if they are still in business when cruising is an option they will reach out to us for our business. 

 

As for comps in the future I think it will depend your level of play. I'm guessing high level players will continue to get offers but Lower level to mid it may be quiet for a while.

My cancelled Zaandam sailing for this past April was a deeply-discounted casino fare, so when it was cancelled, the FCC wasn't all that much ($495 for an 11-night sailing).  I rebooked for January.  Then, I received the "free OV" offer which was really $200 + taxes/fees with $250 casino credit.  So, we switched my existing Jan cruise to the casino offer plus booked the next week under the same offer.  Had to book as 2 separate booking, not as a single 14-night sailing.

 

Can book the same sailings for December (have the option for a 14-night), NOT as a casino fare.  I'll see if the fare drops at all during the Black Friday sale, but I expect it won't.

 

Sure would be nice if I could just "life and shift" over to December!  I'll at least contact the casino department and see if I get any perks at all.
