Don't know about Cunard.

There is a website  turning left for less  , which is good for telling you about who's the best and offers.  For Christmas 22 flights aren't bookable till January.

If you don't live in driving distance to Heathrow and have to take a connection,  then FinnAir is good fly locally to Helsinki , then flying over pole, is quickest if you want to break journey in Singapore,  Japan ,  China, Thailand, but obviously long way round for Dubai.

Even in the before times its too early to book - you need to look about 14 months out - but some won't be bookable until 12 months out.

Now, who knows? Until Australia opens up again - unlikely before the end of this year , the airlines and routes are totally up in the air.

That said the usual options include Dubai, Doha, Singapore, KL, HK. There was also a direct flight Perth/Heathrow - which is different and Perth is worth a few days stop over

We have done stop overs in Singapore an Dubai. We always booked directly with the air line. Singapore Airlines have a package which includes a couple of nights at a hotel in Singapore plus transfers and from memory a HOHO bus pass. Emirates does a similar thing in Dubai. Both times we flew in to Sydney but I can't see why Melbourne should not work too. Make sure your second leg into Australia is with an acceptable partner airline - on one occasion ours was with the antipodean equivalent of Ryan Air and it is not a quick flight.

As it's anyone's guess which countries will close borders at the drop of  a hat or be open to all, even in eighteen months time, I would book any long haul flights in one combined cruise and air ticket. If any part of the whole is cancelled, you're not then stuck with a partial holiday.

We do that as a matter of course but as it's often cheaper to book air and cruise travel separately, some get caught out if one part of the plan goes haywire.
