Indirect flights

As mentioned in a previous thread my passport for Europe runs out this month although the expiry date shown is October 22. There is a small chance that we might take a holiday in a non-European country later this year or early next year but we could well have to take an indirect flight via Europe. Although we would be remaining airside would my passport be okay or do I need to renew it now?

I also wouldnt rely on a reponse on an internet forum - even one of my responses.

But, as you'd be a transit passenger staying airside, would you have passed through that country's passport control and, therefore, not needed to show your passport.

I know that, since the UK left the EU, we now have to have 6 months left on passports to visit an EU country. It'd be worth you checking what requirements your destination country has. That may make the decision for you.
