"Singles paying 200% are entitled to full onboard credit value"

So I have a booking 'hold' for a new NCL promotion which offers $200 OBC for a balcony booking.  I am travelling with a friend, and they are in a separate cabin.

The terms and conditions state:  "Singles paying 200% are entitled to full onboard credit value".   Now, the price at the moment for single occupancy is not 200% - it's only about 130%.

Do I get $200, $130 or $0 OBC?!

Hard to say.  You might be able to see it on your summary - sometimes the OBC will show.  Since the booking is on hold, there isn't a link to the summary page but you can get to it by typing in your latitudes # and reservation.

www.ncl.com/shores/latitudes#/reservation#/vacation-summary

It might also show on the invoice, under add-ons.

Curious - what cruise?

The question I want to ask then is would you be willing to pay the extra 70% to get the $200 OBC if you didn't get it? As it might not be worth.

Say a balcony is $500pp so double occupancy would be $1000.

But you are only paying $650. It would be silly to pay more just to get the $200 as it would cost you more.

Find out if you get any OBC and how much

Thanks, that's an interesting way to get to the summary alright!  It didn't show the OBC unfortunately though.  I might ask a customer rep.

Epic.  But it's all cruises from today on NCL EU site.  Instead of 'take all 4/5' it's take 2 + $200 OBC.

Wonder if US site will follow - they had a few fall cruises with 50% solo surcharge but that seems to be gone now.  My PCC is on notice to let me know when that info comes to her (since NCL doesn't seem to advertise solo discounts too often) but I'm not sure I can always count on that.

And definitely not worth paying the extra 70% for $200, nowhere near it!

I'm surprised the answer isn't on the website, but I'm guessing I will get the $200 as it is more likely to be that they were trying, badly, to say singles (albeit paying double normally) would get the OBC.   Fact that they are currently not imposing a 100% penalty for single occupancy is probably not going to change it.  I hope!

The terms for other 'add-on's seem to refer to singles and 200% too.  I'm hoping it won't disqualify but will check with customer service tomorrow.  At very least would expect 50% of OBC.  Presumably this issue has cropped up before for solo travellers on here.

So I got customer service, and if you have the "SINGLE" code (representing a discount on the normal 100% single supplement), you don't get any of the OBC.  And the reduced single supplement is worth more than $200 in all cases.

Makes sense I guess, but it should perhaps be made a bit clearer in their adverts.
