Have you seen corned beef hash at any of the breakfast venues?  I love it but hardly ever have it (not good on my diet), however, whenever cruising I try to forget about diet rules and indulge.

Corned beef hash is on the MDR menu. I didn't look for it in the Lido. It's part of the international breakfast menu.

We learned more about the Delta Variant and how vaccinated people can transmit the virus.  The CDC came out with guidance saying masks should be worn in indoor places vaccinated or not.   As we learn more, we adjust what we are doing to protect everyone's health.  Personally, I like that HAL is doing what they are doing to keep me healthy.

Very true!

My husband, daughter, son in law and myself were all vaccinated in March and April, all of us got the Delta Variant in July. Most of us had the Phizer vaccine, 1 of us got the Moderna. Having Covid wasn't a picnic but we all handled it fairly well and I am prone to pneumonia , so i was glad to avoid a hospital trip!!

We don't sail until March but am grateful HAL will be doing what is needed at that time to help protect us!

Yesterday was our last sea day and there were far more activities on the schedule than any other day of the cruise. We had a fun day doing different things around the ship and my fiancé enjoyed a spa package.

For dinner we went to Nami sushi, which is the a la carte restaurant in Tamarind. We ordered a ton of food and all of it was great. The service in this restaurant was beyond fantastic and we were welcomed back like we were VIPs. I highly recommend coming to Tamarind and/or Nami during your trip because you won’t be disappointed.

After dinner we went to BB Kings to watch the comedy show. We got there an hour early to get a table and got one of the last ones. It was frustrating that this venue would get so crowded that you had to get there an hour early just to get a seat and waste time when you could be doing something else instead. They should have had the comedy show on the main stage so they could have easily accommodated the crowd. The other comedy shows during the week had been packed so it was no surprise that this one was too and there were so many people that they didn’t even have room to all fit into the venue.

We then packed and put our luggage in the hall before grabbing one last dessert at the buffet. It was sad that our trip was over but we had had a fantastic time.

Today was deembarkation which went smoothly. We had opted for the 930 time so we woke up and had breakfast for the final time in the dining room. Getting off the ship only took about 10-15 minutes.

Overall we had a great trip. Aside from some frustrations with the beverage package, we didn’t really have any complaints about the cruise. I wish there had been more activities that interested me on the ship but my fiancé had no trouble finding plenty to do (and spent a ton of time in the casino).

We thought the food was very good and couldn’t think of any dish we had that we hated. Dinner at Tamarind was one of the highlights of the week and I highly recommend making reservations here.

We got pretty lucky with the weather, other than the day at glacier bay being pretty foggy.

We definitely noticed that mask wearing picked up after the first day and the vast majority of people on the ship were wearing their masks the rest of the week when walking around the ship. We never felt uncomfortable about our healthy or worried about covid while on board.

All in all, this was a great vacation and as close to feeling like a normal pre-covid vacation as you can get right now.

There is a wonderful hole-in-the-wall sushi bar in Sitka that I always make a point of visiting.

Great ongoing review! Thank you.

I have a casino question: did it open late after departure from Juneau & Icy Strait Point?

I can't say for 100% certainty that it did but I don't recall it being closed any night, so I'm fairly certain it was open both of those nights.  It probably opened around 10:30 or so, once we got far enough away from land to where they could legally open it.  We were in the casino every night of the cruise as far as I remember and I doubt they would miss any opportunity to have the casino open and make some money.

Am trying to plan possible times for our roll call's slot pull  ;-}
