Rare EngIceDave Posted September 9, 2021 Author #81 Share Posted September 9, 2021 Had dinner at Bonsai Teppanyaki (casino comp. host came up Monday and asked if Wifey-poo and I had and dinner plans in Curaçao, I replied “no” and she asked if I preferred the steakhouse or Teppanyaki. Chose Teppanyaki because never done one, even on a ship. then asked what time and offered two different times, I chose the earliest Realizing I was possibly walking into a minefield because I made an executive decision on my own…..LOL It worked out, she agreed with the choices. The dinner was great. To understand, you order your entree and the apps come while he’s prepping and making the fried rice. You get all of the apps, your chosen entree and the dessert bento box Miko was chef’s name I believe, food was good needs to work on show a little. Was slow at times compared the one next to us. Another issue is volume, due to masks and accents, it’s really hard to understand. We don’t know what the sexy towel critter is

Rare EngIceDave Posted September 9, 2021 Author #86 Share Posted September 9, 2021 La Romana? la Yawnmana. …..Zzzzzzzzz venture beyond the straw market on your own and you better have a weapon. no excursion? Just stay on board. Some randomness. I was trying to impress the size and scale of the ship to surroundings some today. The ship looms large over the tiny port market

Rare EngIceDave Posted September 9, 2021 Author #89 Share Posted September 9, 2021 OK boys and girls, everyone gather round for story time See the man in the photo? The one who’s identity has been poorly hidden? See all the empty tables and chairs? this gentleman and significant other walked past allllllllll those tables and chairs and sat next to us. now, it could be argued that the spouse want to also sit at the padded wall seat, as I am, but there were three tables….A, B and a C….Call the window seat A and B and C, just like a plane. we were seated at A. both B and C were available. They chose B right next to me This is a guy who’ll piss in the urinal next to you when all of the others are open. (Ladies, if you don’t get that, ask your man, because he does) 1

Rare EngIceDave Posted September 9, 2021 Author #95 Share Posted September 9, 2021 Want to discuss food for a moment. I don’t consider myself a foodie, but I know and enjoy good food and I am the cook of my home, which I take pride in. All that said, the food has been disappointing IF ITS FREE, other than the GuyBurgers and burritos. MDR and lido have been very disappointing, especially since we have always complimented their MDR food. Lido is lido…it’s buffet food. my issue there is the limited selections and even the number of them open. There was one point I could not find any open food on lido. I wanted a sweet…a cookie, even a banana….nope… it was all totally closed. This was like 5pm. the overall quality has been lacking, but the cakes and stuff in that sweet spot have been great. I won’t call any of it terrible, just not that great

Rare EngIceDave Posted September 10, 2021 Author #97 Share Posted September 10, 2021 Observation: I typically wear Vans shoes, one pair is a bit worn and if the decks are wet, it’s slick as fork. If you’re not in good deck shoes or athletic shoes, take caution. if older/elderly, take even more care than normal.
helene109 Posted September 10, 2021 #98 Share Posted September 10, 2021 Hi fantastic review! We are doing abc itinerary in May. What is it like right off the piers? Shopping safe? Rare EngIceDave Posted September 10, 2021 Author #99 Share Posted September 10, 2021 Amber Cove is, IMO, like an island. I wouldn’t go wandering off. Don’t see anywhere to wander to other than jungle where the dinosaurs will eat you. but here’s some pictures of the safer areas and price menus.
